Description

A rich and indulgent dessert combining the flavors of classic tiramisu with fudgy chocolate brownies, topped with a creamy mascarpone layer.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso, divided
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
  4. Add 1/4 cup of the brewed coffee or espresso and stir to incorporate.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
  6. In a bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, remaining 1/4 cup of coffee, coffee liqueur (if using), and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Spread the mascarpone mixture evenly over the cooled brownies.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until set.
  9. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Cut into squares and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, increase the amount of espresso or add instant espresso powder.
  • Let the brownies cool fully before topping to avoid melting the mascarpone layer.
  • Use high-quality cocoa and mascarpone for best flavor.
