Description

Classic sprinkle sugar cookies that are soft, chewy, and coated with colorful sprinkles, perfect for holidays or celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup rainbow sprinkles (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract if using.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until a dough forms.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and roll them into balls.
  7. Roll each dough ball in rainbow sprinkles until fully coated.
  8. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
  10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
