- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Divide dough into two equal portions. Mix matcha powder into one portion until fully incorporated.
- Take a small amount of each dough and twist together, gently rolling to form a ball. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Press a few white chocolate chips into each cookie or fold into the dough before swirling.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For a more vibrant green, use ceremonial grade matcha.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes if too sticky to handle.
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
