Description

Soft and chewy cookies with a vibrant swirl of earthy matcha and sweet white chocolate, offering a delicious balance of flavors and a visually striking appearance.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Divide dough into two equal portions. Mix matcha powder into one portion until fully incorporated.
  6. Take a small amount of each dough and twist together, gently rolling to form a ball. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Press a few white chocolate chips into each cookie or fold into the dough before swirling.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a more vibrant green, use ceremonial grade matcha.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes if too sticky to handle.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
