- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 100g dark chocolate, melted
- 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour madeleine molds.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale and thick.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture.
- Add melted butter and vanilla extract, folding carefully to combine.
- Spoon batter into the molds, filling about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the madeleines spring back when touched.
- Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
- Melt the dark chocolate and mix the matcha powder in a shallow dish.
- Dip one side of each cooled madeleine in melted chocolate, then immediately dip into matcha powder to coat.
- Place on parchment paper to set.
- Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
