Chocolate shavings or curls, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Bake the Brownies: Preheat oven to 350°F (or as per brownie mix instructions). Prepare brownies in a 9×13-inch pan according to package directions. Let cool completely.
-
Make the French Silk Layer:
-
Beat softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
-
Add cocoa powder and mix until well combined.
-
Add eggs one at a time, beating each on high speed for 3 minutes to ensure a silky, mousse-like texture.
-
-
Assemble: Spread the French silk mixture evenly over the cooled brownie base.
-
Top: Spread whipped topping evenly over the French silk layer.
-
Garnish: Sprinkle chocolate shavings or curls over the top (optional).
-
Chill: Refrigerate for 2–3 hours or until fully set. Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
-
Cooling is key: Ensure the brownies are completely cool before layering to prevent melting the creamy topping.
-
High-quality cocoa: Use a rich cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.
-
Serving tip: Best served cold for a firm, silky texture.
