Description

These French Silk Brownies combine the rich, fudgy base of classic brownies with a smooth, creamy French silk pie topping and fluffy whipped cream. A decadent chocolate dessert that’s easy to make and perfect for parties, holidays, or whenever your sweet tooth strikes!

Ingredients

For the Brownie Base:

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the package: oil, eggs, water)

For the French Silk Layer:

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 3 large eggs

For the Whipped Topping:

  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip or similar), thawed

  • Chocolate shavings or curls, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Bake the Brownies: Preheat oven to 350°F (or as per brownie mix instructions). Prepare brownies in a 9×13-inch pan according to package directions. Let cool completely.

  • Make the French Silk Layer:

    • Beat softened butter and sugar until fluffy.

    • Add cocoa powder and mix until well combined.

    • Add eggs one at a time, beating each on high speed for 3 minutes to ensure a silky, mousse-like texture.

  • Assemble: Spread the French silk mixture evenly over the cooled brownie base.

  • Top: Spread whipped topping evenly over the French silk layer.

  • Garnish: Sprinkle chocolate shavings or curls over the top (optional).

  • Chill: Refrigerate for 2–3 hours or until fully set. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Cooling is key: Ensure the brownies are completely cool before layering to prevent melting the creamy topping.

  • High-quality cocoa: Use a rich cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.

  • Serving tip: Best served cold for a firm, silky texture.
