Description

Cheesy Potato Bites are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and loaded with cheese and savory flavors—perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form mixture into small bite-sized balls.
  3. Roll each ball in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry the potato bites in batches until golden and crispy, about 2–3 minutes per batch.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

  • Ensure the mashed potatoes are not too wet or the bites may fall apart.
  • These can be baked instead of fried for a lighter option.
  • Try adding crumbled bacon or herbs for variation.
